ART

New or old? Contemporary or traditional? Which did you prefer? What did you like about each? Please be specific - I heard some very interesting opinions at the gallery.

I LOVE the older paintings because:

1)They didn't have cameras back then so that was the only thing you could do (apart from sketch/draw)

2)It looks so realistic

3)Its VERY hard to do

and 4) It has a kind of way of seeming like a lot of different things all at once

Is that all you wanted Mr Woodles?

P.S. I also like the modern art because its so simple, it's AMAZING!

There was a very realistic painting which was the wedding one! There was a modern one called "running man", that was random! This guy was just running around on a video game. How is that art??????

Personally, I perfered the older work. Some people may say that it lacks things that modern art has, like emotion, but I quite like the subelty of it. I have to admit, I liked the sorrowful ones the best though...

I like the older paintings better because it's so emotional and it so realistic.

The modern art was random and i think it was more creative but not real art i think.

The modern art was random but funny too, but i wouldn't keep it in my house. for example that book of numbers with pages full of numbers, who would call that modern and it is not styly.modern art looks so simple to do, you could do 5min designing and by the end of the hour have it completed. from the art it was realy interesting to see what people called modern art.

the olden days paintings are more artistic and the oil really looks nice, i would defintly in my house. they have more emotion especially the sad ones, but i think that people don't have grey skin like zombies. people then had a bad sense of fashion and the paintings told how people lived.

i reckon people were reeeeaallly good at art because they didn't have any tools then to use.

The trip was fun. The walking was a great ticket to chatter. The origami show kinda answered my question, how can origami be maths? Right now i'm trying to make an international peace carne and it's really easy.

I think I liked the old art better because it loooked so real and it had emotions in it and you almost felt as if you could talk to them, they looked like someone who was just trapped in a painting, and was still alive!

I liked the ATM as well, but I thought it was a photo..... was it?

well, I also liked the modern art because it was soo.. random, yes! random and I think if everything was organised, the world would be boring, so for me, random is good!

But an interesting feature in that gallery is that there were old AND new paintings so you could compare them and spot the similarities and differences.

but some people were horrified at some of those older paintings, but I mean if it was as hot as it was over there, YOu would walk around like that!

bye,

MIKI! you ARE a great artist! Mr Woodles, I can prove that miki's great because she once drew this abstract art picture and I wanted to frame it and keep it, that's how good it was! anyway, I liked the tv's with all the same thing on them because it was....... I don't know...... so....... it's hard to explain.

I reckon that the old art was better as it showed emotion and feeling. I liked the sad ones more though, it was easy to see their emotions and expressions.
Could I do art like that?
