Evolution

Some of you don't believe in evolutionary theory. I do. In fact my degree was strongly based around understanding religion and natural sciences like biology, geology, paleontology, etc.
Here is a cool image that someone has developed using d.n.a. evidence of one of our nearest ancestors - the neanderthal.
Do you believe....?

I believe in the evolutionary theory, mainly because I think it has sound concepts and such. Also, because I am an atheist.

I believe in Darwin's evolutionary theory. My opinion is that humans can't just come out of nowhere and start doing things, can they?
Somehow they have to start from scratch and use technology abd their brains to create science (the study-NOT creating the sun or torture the moon).
And of course, all of this was planned so somebody would understand and teach the others.

Am I right?

I believe in there being a greater power and he made us all evolve kind of like neina said.

P.S.I reckon the stupidest way to die would be old age

P.P.S I have no idea why

Gnome, thankyou for agreeing. I mean, there has to be something bigger than we can puree into science. Something had to create the big band, help us evolve into the intelligent creatures we are today.
PS did you know that that we might have some different blood in us - not just Homo Seipien? Scary...

this where opinion becomes distinct from fact. scientists don't just make stuff up. they hypothesize and test based on evidence. people's beliefs are different in that sense. you want to believe in a higher power because it helps you understand things that are beyond your comprehension at this stage, just like primitive people constructed stories to help make sense of the world around them. however, we now are advanced enough to be able to discover reliable explanations based on evidence.
of course, it doesn't mean that scientists know everything - they don't.

hi,
mr.woody it has been known that some,(notice some)scientist have been known for lieing more than once, but i think it is find to belive what you belive but i think it is wrong to push your beliefs on someone else who is fine on there on beliefs and dont disturb you so why disturb them.
