Hamiltron, City of the Future

Hamilheaven, as i call it, is a great place to live, but not everyone agrees. In fact, even our own citizens, visiting rugby teams and media commentators sometimes 'put us down'.
Why doesn't everyone agree with me that Hamilton is a cool place to live? What can you find out about Hamilton?
What are its positives? Negatives? And, most importantly, what can we do as proud citizens of Hamilton, to make it a place everyone wants to live, visit or be from?

To answer these questions, we first need to find out everything we can about what Hamilton is all about.
Where can we get started?
If you want to be the most diligent student, start looking now and share your discoveries.

btw - start taking pics too - Mrs McCullagh has set up a photographic competition online for us to win - I'm keen!

I rekon Hamilton is the best city in NZ! You can get to anything/anywhere in like, 5 minutes! This city may be small but there are lots of shops! Not to mention the restrounts.(Is this spelt corectly???) It only takes 10 minutes to get from south to north!

There are also lots of highlights in NZ such as:
* Univercity
* Museum
* Hamilton Gardens
* Sport dome
* Waterworld
* Balloons
And lots more

Hamilton is a developing city, one day maybe, it make get big as Auckland! (Well, it might take another.....50 years?)

Sorry Ernest, but you have to see both sides of this....

Reason 1. Compare Hamilton to any other major city in NZ and there are plenty of things to see.

Auckland - Skytower, Harbour
Wellington - Te Papa, Beehive
Christchurch - Catherdral Square, Botanic Gardens
Dunedin - Never been there, can't say much but there must be something.....
Rotorua - Mud Pools etc.
Queenstown - Fly by Wire, Bungee Jumping etc.
Hamilton - .....Pretty much nothing.....

Reason 2.

In contrast to what Ernest said about Hamilton becoming as big as Auckland...yeah, probably but Auckland would be a LOT bigger that Hamilton still. And it doesn't only take 10mins to get from one side to the other, in low traffice hours it could take 45mins (roughly) to get from Te Rapa Straight to Matangi.

Reason 3.

And I can't help but point out that you can't get to New York in like 5 minutes!!!

Another Reason

Reason 4:

Waterworld is a pool complex. Every major town/city in NZ has one. Therefore it doesn't really count as a highlight. The balloons only visit once a year, it's a highlight but not an all year round one like the ones in my previous list.

so who wins???

MrWoody said...

well mr brainy - who do you think won? and why? justify your answer with reasons.

ernesto - it's 'restaurants'.

all of you - i 'googled' hamilton city council and got plenty of useful links to use a resources.

remember - we are at the information gathering stage - you don't have to atually 'do' a project as such.
we will be going over the 'action learning' process in class this term.
