parachutes

okay, so i'm supposed to be writing your reports but this is more interesting....

think about parachute design.

post links to interesting sites about parachutes.

add links to sites with good templates for making parachutes.

think about today's lesson on calculating the area of a circle using pi. can you find similarities between some of the diagrams here and what we covered??? see the image above. do you see what i meant about a square or circle cut out might not make a very effective parachute canopy?
we can use the big white plastic rubbish bags as a source of material to make parachute canopies.

Yes pi is confusing!
I have no idea what it is ... I think in just stands for 3.14...
I have just been on the site you got that picture from Mr Woody!

Why use a parachute when you can use rocket engines! Ok that was pointless but oh well rockets are cool

yeah i went on it too kitty kat. can someone please update me on what you guys were doing in class today, something about the parachutes?

yeah, we had to make parachutes with a box thing at the bottom.

havn't seen you on here before alpha..
i can't wait to see if our parachutes fly...
and room5ian we will probably fill you in tomorrow but a brief intro...
we started making parachutes with plastic bags and we made a box at the bottom which has to be strong enough to hold some bolts !!

Pi is an irrational number. 3.14 is just an approximation, Pi is infinitely long. Some sauvant guy memorised it to about 10000 decimal places, it took him about 6 hours to say them all. Can't remember how to work out Pi step by step. Hmmmmmmm

WOW!
Six hours!
Room5ian.
We stuck on Kakepuku and a helicopter goes over.
It can't land but it puts a rope down and 2 people can get on. (you pretend its you and a friend)
You have to get supplies for them and make a parachute to lower the box with them into a target thing mic jiggy...

i sort of dont understand 'pi' but i think that digram is very interesting and it would be great if someone could find a template though. i think the parachutes we are making at school are going to turn out good.

Uh-mah-goth I'm soooo envious of you guys, you get to learn about PARACHUTES! *Anyone who doesn't understand sarcasm, well, that was it!*

Hey Uncle Woodles
Haven't been on the blog for a while, but decided to check up on you. Am listening to Evanessence and writing-mah-heart-out! You guys should go read KittyKat's poems on DDP (deaddawnpoets.blogspot.com), they're really GOOD!

Buh-Bye
