We watched the movie McLibel because we are studying rights and responsibilities in term three.
Can you tell me what you think the central message of the film was. In other words, without focusing on McDonalds, what were the main issues? Put in terms we understand from literacy learning - i.e. What was the "author's" intention?

Check out the website from the film. There are links to animal rights sites too.

That just because you don't have money or power doesn't mean that you can't fight for something that you believe in.

Judge for yourself.

I think the main points were that you're never too small to do something if you really believe in it. :O)

I agree with what Roo said, 'Judge for yourself', but also, Queenie and I theought that it was about Rights, for animals, and ourselves.

that you don't need to have alot of money or experience to make a change. if you don't think something is right, that you should stand up for what you think and say your opinion.

Um, did you watch the whole thing? I was at Combined school lit quiz, being a marker, sO I was serverely cut short of the movie (I think).
It was about a man and a woman, part of a group against animal cruelty and so on (greenies) who do stuff bout Mcdonalds, and MCdonalds charge them for Libel, and so they go to court and everything, and the aparently WIN!!!

(I might be away for another while again)
But anyway here's a few small summaries:
Big corrupt businesses.
Bad treatment of people, animals and plants.
Small people taking on big corperations.

I think the movie means - standing up for the little peolpe. Because those people risked lots of thing they would have been put in jail because they couldnt pay for it all.But also thinking of the animals it is sick what they do but its not just you know the thing i cant say who's doing it though.
see ya
