Olympics

Which events have you really enjoyed?
Who are your favourite Olympians?
What would you compete in if you could do anything and be really good at it?
Have you paid any attention to the Chinese cultural aspects during the games? If so what have you noticed?

I have always wanted to play for the Black sticks hockey team and go to the olympics.
Im sure the Ashy Mashy might have the same kinda goal that i have and for us to achive that, the first step is being in our rep teams.

I loved watching the rowing which is why I wrote that poem about it. I don't know why, I think it's because there was always like a big race at the end and always a tight finish, and also New Zealand had a team in most of the races.
One of my favourite athletes is Mahe Drysdale because I have met him. did you know he is taller than Mr Bromell! Scary aye. I also like him because he still rowed and he had Beijing Belly and didn't give up!!!! He is also really nice, I have his autograph!!!!
I like trampolining aswell and the weightlifting guy was scary!!!!
Bye

Hey guys. I won't be attending school today.
I really like the gymnastics and diving and I would like to be able to do that. I also would like to ice skate.
If I were to choose something I would most likely get in for it would be rowing or horse-riding. I would have to say that Mark Todd is my favourite Olympian because he won gold in 1984 and 1988 and is still going to the Olympics. If he were still alive I would have chosen Charisma but it's really sad because he died when he was 30 of a broken shoulder and had to be put down. Charisma was discovered when he was 4 I think and was bought by David Murdoch and was put in a small pasture and he jumped a four-foot fence. That's a metre and a foot.

My favourite sport to watch is rowing . My favourite athlete would be Mahe Drysdale because he did so well for his condition. I would like to be in kayaking.

The most entertaining sport I've watched at Beijing would have to be the gymnastics because I am amazed at what the gymnasts can do.
My favourite Olympian is Mahe Drysdale beacause even though he had a severe gastrointestinal infection in the week before the final he still managed to take out bronze. After the race he was vomiting, but still made it to the medals ceremony. What a trooper!

Did you know Mahe Drysdale was born in Australia?

P.S. Have you noticed that athletes, who do pretty much nothing for the community, get paid more than surgeons and doctors?

i aggree with the gym i would love to do all thet stuff. you'de have to be reeeeeeeeeeeeeally strong though. i also really love watching the sincro swiming and diving.

the other night i taped the mens rings and the womens uneven bar finals. they were awsome!!! i love that kind of stuff

also i taped the new zealand sincro swimming. the two 'sincro sisters' came fourth but that doesnt matter.

Gym and synchronised diving whould also have to be my favourite olympic sports to watch.
I whould really like to be a really good olympic runner/sprinter.
My favourite olympian whould have to be Sarah Walker because I think that BMX is a really cool sport and she is really good at it.
I also think that it is really sad that the Chinese girl was not pretty enough to singing in front of the world.

The events I love are the tramploitning, and symmetric diving and swimming... just so gorgeous!
I love Valarie Vili, because she is pascific blooded, and she is the bestest in the world.
I would so compete in either cycling, hockey, soccer, basketball, netball (Not WD or WA), badminton, tennis, tabletennis, or sprinting.
I love all the cultral aspects! They did so well at the opening... but i am sure they are doing this to fit EVERYONE. Why so much contaverso\y?

I love all the events.
I just really like the Olympics.

Yay, New Zealand has 3 golds, 1 silver and 5 bronze.

I would compete in the decathlon which consists of ten events which are:
100 metres
long jump
shot put
high jump
400 metres
Day 2
110 metre hurdles
discus
pole vault
javelin
1500 metres

Yes I have seen the cultural aspects during the Olympics.
In the opening ceremoy they said things about what the Chinese people invented.

100 metres what? Running?

I love watching the gymnastics! There is one girl who's very good and her name is Nastia Liuken, I think. Something like that. It's 'Nastia something' at any rate!!

Synchronized diving is cool! I haven't seen much of it but what I saw was really awesome anyway! :o)

Which one would I like to compete in? Oooohhh.... I'm not sure. Maybe not weight lifting. After seeing that guy dislocate his arm it's sort of put me off!! I don't really think my muscles are big enough any way!!

I don't think it really matters what the event is, as long as you try hard and really want to achieve your goal (whatever that is) and you are good at it, I suppose!

Yeah 100 metres running.

Well the athletes always strive for the gold even though they may be the worst competitor.

I enjoy watching Table Tennis, Badminton and Volleyball (Both beach&indoor).
They all require fast reactions, which is quite interesting to watch. I also like watching football, a sport that require huge amounts of energy, skill and teamwork. The best part about it is when the Goalie makes a save or when someone scores a goal.
