Inter-class Challenge

Here ye, here ye!
The Fabulous Room5ians challenge all our fellow classroom bloggers to join us in an online photography challenge.
Is there anyone from New Jersey or Taradale or Christchurch or Auckland Or Pitt Island or Great Britain or Canada or anywhere who wants to participate?
Once people have expressed their interest here we can decide on the rules and means of display. I suggest Flickr or Voicethread or our class blogs to compare results and share voting.
What do you think? Who is keen?

wow, mabye we can sort of do the competition like the science take photos then make a label for it and do a paragraph about it then put on your blog and then tell us youve done it, then we can have a look at it and we can do a poll on who wins????
what do you guys think about that?
see you guys later =)

I agree with Roo's idea.
The problem with doing a poll to see who wins is that people could vote more than once.

Sound like fun. Would it be stacks of work?

Another problem is... How do we know if it is a photo you have taken, and not a photo off the internet, or from your parents?

It sounds like a cool idea.
This is an idea you can be like "nah" to, but why don't we do a field trip like when we were doing the Hamilton inquiry thing and we take pictures while we're out.
Or is it an individuals things that you do at home.
I really have nothing else to say now.
I'm bored.

great idea, Kerli :-)

I think this would be a great idea. I would love to participate, but my class is on summer vacation until September. When would it begin and end? I will still participate myself. Let me know what is going on with the project!

As an added note, I found this article that was interesting. Anyone know this person?!

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.
Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed.
Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public Thursday. The girl was involved in a custody battle, he said.
The new name was not made public to protect the girl's privacy.
"The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name," he wrote. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."
The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her "K" instead, the girl's lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court.
In his ruling, Murfitt cited a list of the unfortunate names.
Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence," he said.
New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions, said Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Clarke said officials usually talked to parents who proposed unusual names to convince them about the potential for embarrassment.

Thanks Mr. Teehan, that was really interesting. Mr. Woody I vote for "purely artistic shots/photos" this is going to be so fun I'm in!
3=0)
thanks, bye!

Yeah, that's a cool idea, but I think it should be an individual thing not something when we go on a field trip and take photos, because we'd all take the same thing, and it would be likely we'd have to keep moving on with our field trip and we wouldn't have time to take a good photo.

Also, I think the topic should be 'purely artistic photos'!

:o)

Of course we will participate!

Yeah I'd be happy to give it a go.I was thinking we could pick things that we thought looked really cool.

Hm, Mabey we could have a subject where it is random photots but they are on glossy paper. But ot could just be for the individual classes.

Hi, thanks for coming on to my blog and for asking if I could visit your class blog. Well, I have read some and it sounds like a great class and a great use of a blog in school. I will pop back and read more when I can.
