Time management

It seems some of you are extremely capable time managers and are very self reliant learners [lucky for you, huh?] ;-)
Unfortunately, we aren't all naturally like that and some of us need to try out different strategies to help us learn effective work habits. I think we can all think of several people in our class who could do with help to learn those skills. This is the forum for us to discuss sensible, practical ways to help people manage their work loads so that learning remains fun. I think we can learn from each other's strengths. It would be best if we supported each other in this endeavour rather than letting someone struggle. It's not nice to feel like you're failing. As Room5ians we must stick together!
I suggest we discuss here and in class ways we can help each other to manage our learning tasks.
I have a few ideas....

Perhaps we could all fill out timetable charts with stamps to indicate whether or not we have successfully achieved adequate progress in each block or throughout each day. At the end of the week we could graph the results and chart our progress towards improved work habits. Those of you who don't need this could prove it over a week then become the tutors in self management. Or the best students could work beside the less disciplined to help them stay foucsed and on task. The ultimate students could make me their pet project and keep me on task during the first half of the day.
We could also state weekly goals and then evaluate if we achieve them each Friday. You guys could even have goals for me. [but be nice please]

What do you think?

I have already started self managing myself. I have done my timetable for Thursday and Friday, plus I'm going on the blog now instead of procrastinating and saying to myself 'I'll do it later'.

hi guys,
good for you mech-boy,
it's good that were being taught to self manage at a resemble young age, if i was to set you a goal mr.woody i would say that...
"all we need to work on is trying to stay on task but it shows that we are all really good friends because we can talk for so long together so its not to bad"
what do you think of what i said?

Very good nei nei! I am just finishing this instant, so I hope I have done it right!
I think learning these skills is a great idea,, as we can use them for the rest of our life. I hope this will help us all (Inluding Mr Woody) to manage our time better!

Hey guys, I just worked out my time table for 12 weeks last week. Pretty difficult, made a weekly schedule for each week, worked out when and where each class was, when assignments are due, when and where placement classes are, etc, etc. I call it our biggest assignment for which we get no marks!!

We could have time at the end of each week, just to plan the next week. No matter what. No interruptions.
That would work as long as we actually kept by the schedule!!! :o)
