I reckon we could use maths and technology together.e.g. Mr Woody writes an equation on the board, we send a txt to him. So does that work? Maths+Technology= A fun creative way to do Maths.

Hi there room 9 at Peachgrove! This blog is fantastic. I met your fantastic teacher at the conference last week and we should be sharing our experiences. I use Moodle a lot in my class (we are totally digital) and the students love it. There is lots of discussion going on before and after school and we are a little community. We also do our homework online and some of our units. I would love to know more about podcasting and will check out the link Mr Woody left in one of the other messages.

Keep up the great work folks!

I love tecnolagy i probly couldent live without it. Amals idea was great. I think the same and also think that we wouldent have to shout to the person on the other side of the room we can just txt them.We are a great class and we can make it better with tecnolagy.

Hey Mr Woody I reckon that Amal's idea is great and all but some people (like me) aren't aloud to use their cell phone unless they have to, and/or their parents don't want to become broke because of paying for the bill, and/or they don't have a cell phone. But apart from that I think it would be great! I really think that podcasting is a great idea and I already want to start it, and by the looks of other people's faces, I think that they like the idea as well. This is a great website and I think that we should use this at school or something like that so that our fellow classmates can go and have a look at what people are writing in and then put a comment. But we should only do it with our classmates and their Blogs. See you in class!!! :)

I think we should not use chat rooms because some people(like me) are not allowed to chat because of hidden dangers and the bad, bad experience they had in chat rooms.

Hey there!!
I'm suprised @ all these comments!
Anyway what i'm really here to say is that, well, I think that we shouldn't use chat rooms either because, although I would like to, I'm not allowed to use them either!
But however, I think that all the ideas for using cell phones in class are great!!! I have an example for Amal's first idea; for the petals around the rose activity, instead of people hearing our answer, we could txt Mr Woody!! lol! Aren't i just
F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S?

Good idea Mimi - chat room use woudl be designed to be self-contained at school to be 'safe'. even here it is important you don't give out any personal details.
regarding your txting idea - well done - sounds like a good application for something we have done in class.
C u @ school!

Ernesto's idea is really cool and I think that it could also be used to listen to the podcasting things on the internet that you find and think are appropriate. But you would have to be careful not to scratch or damage it though.

Hello Rm 9! I think that all these ideas are great! Also, I reckon that Txting would be good for teachers as well-if they needed to talk to someone, they could just txt them! Also, teachers would not have to send students to other rooms, and as for the student informer, well, it could be sent to everyone's cellphones instead. But the down side is, you would have to know everyone's numbers. Also, people could cheat at tests by txting, and say nasty things behind other's backs. Keep up the gr8 work!
P.S. Do know who I am? Put it on the blog if you think you know. Meow!!!!!!

catgirl said...

Oh by the way, that's meant to be Do YOU know who I am. Sorry!

catgirl, r u a teacher?

Mr Woody said...

Could it be Miss P?
hmmm.... i don't think miss p would choose catgirl as a name, but she has a link to this site and catgirl uses correct spelling and grammar, therefore it can't be a student..
LOL

Mr Woody said...

Good call on the basics, Tonks, but i didn't understand your auror comment...

Tonks said...

An auror is an wizard or witch that has different abilities like herbology, potions, trangfigaration and D.A.D.A.
If u dont know what D.A.D.A. means read harry potter.

Wotcher rm 9

I reckon that Mr woody should leave our homework on this very blog.

Tonks said...

Wotcher!

if we r showing the class our research finings, maybe we could record it on tape so we can watch it, learn from our mistakes and see ourselves on the camera!

Tonks said...

Wotcher!

Maybe their could be a blog for the class councilier and also enviro rep coz our class could put our school/enviro promblems on the blog? What do u think about that!!!!!!!

secret info:

if you post on your own blog, i can leave clues there for you. no post - no clues.

Having cellphones would be good for conveying messages without coming up to u all the time mr Woody but then we would need a good deal from telecom or vodafone and some of the kids in room 9 might not b alowed cells

Good idea jess but i think txts cost more than paper and theyd get a sore thumb from txting!

Mr Woody said...

Interesting point Magster. Maybe we could contact telecom for some cheap deal on texting.
