ancient egyptian chicken heaven

now that our dear departed chickens have been mummified, we can move on to embalming and preparation for their journey to the ancient egyptian chicken afterlife.

how will you prepare them?

will you use heiroglyphs? wrapping? a decorated sarcophagus? are canopic jars necessary? will you compose some poultry 'spells' to help them negotiate their way into the afterlife? which 'gods' might they have to encounter to gain access to chicken heaven?

we should help them on their way this week and i would like it to be artistic and based on your inquiry learning.

post ideas here for others to comment on.

I want to put the chicken in a box, paint the box write a poem thing on hieroglyics then burry it.
I really don't enjoy doing the chickens. It makes me feel unwell and it goes against my Moralls.

i want to wrap the chicken in linenwith "spelled" amulets though the layers, then place the chicken in a shoe box which will be decorateted with somes main spells and hieroglyphics.

remember though everyone that if you are planning to bury the box then make sure that it dosnt have anything that wont decompose in it.

the thing for me about wrpping the chicken is that I don't feel like, very good about it. I don't no why but, when I die i don't want to be wrapped.

I'd like to wrap the chicken and make a cool sarcophagus and canopic jars, and a book of the dead like the one you showed us etc.
and we could bury it some where at school, maybe under that big gingko tree near the tech blocks.
or we could make woven caskets out of natural materials so then the chicken and the casket could rot so then we wouldn't be polluting.
er, yeah...

oh yeah, and we can make ankhs (isis's shoe/belt buckle) out of terracotta.
I don't really want to bury mine in a shoe box, I'd rather design a sarcophagus and make it look all egypty and artistic.

i love your ideas - it has occurred to me that we really MUST record what we do, stage by stage, for each group committed to quality work, so we can keep it as a record of what we have achieved before we bury it all. we will call them digital stories and it will be the final part of your assessment - huzzah! you kidlets rock!
