Digital Learning Objects

Hello official research monkeys [that means students in Room5 who used the digital learning objects and were recorded by Annick and Rob] - can you please make statements here about your experience with the cartown digital learning object? I would like to know if it was fun, engaging, whether or not you used it properly, or just rushed through trying to answer things so you could get to the next stage, etc. Did it help you learn anything? Was it useful in relation to your inquiry studies about Hamilton? How did you enjoy working in pairs?
Please be honest so i can learn from your experience.
The more detailed your answer, the better.

p.s. the primate shown is a bonobo. bonobos are a type of chimpanzee and are apes, not monkeys. there is a difference and as scientists we need to be clear about our distinctions between different groups when making classifications. [put your hand up if you understood what i just said]

Mobile Technology and our Fieldtrip

This Wednesday we will be walking into town to further investigate our city and how we can be positive contributors to it. Our goal of course is to create digital stories that showcase HamiltON's strengths and maybe investigate some of the less desirable aspects with a view to making some meaningful suggestions for the HCC to consider.

We will hopefully be meeting the Museum director to discuss how we can have input into the development of wonderful museum exhibitions and programmes involving kids.

We will also go to the library to meet someone important to discuss the exciting new possibilities relating to the library of the future... This is good timing because our own library is being redeveloped soon and you could share your ideas for that too.

The river banks will call us also so we can capture our wonderful Waikato River as Mlearning agents. Perhaps we will discover fascinating historical sites along the way.

For this trip we need to be able to gather information as we travel. Mobile phones are one means of capturing information on the run. We even know how to post it to our blog now. But what else can we use? How do we arrange it? And what if there isn't enough cool ICT to share around? Not everyone has a phone. How else can we gather our information? Can you think of innovative solutions to solve the problem? We need everyone involved at all times to avoid boredom, so how can we creatively get everyone involved?

well, what a weekend. i was sick all day saturday, then okay sunday morning. i took manny for a walk and he was attacked by a pitt bull mastiff cross [= a giant pit bull] and i dropped my sunglasses breaking it up. manny wasn't hurt, but the owner of the dog must have swiped my sunnies. boo hoo. then, sunday evening, sasha and i got sick at the same time and we spent all night lying awake, scurrying back n forth to the loo. i am feeling better now, having slept until lunchtime. actually i have only eaten two pieces of toast since friday night.
so how was monday at school with out me? did the official research monkeys get their movie done for Annick and Rob. If not, try to do it now....[if anyone sees this]
