"Mantos", a boy from my class two years ago suggested you guys have a go at this tricky problem.. the attached wikipedia link has the solution included.
and remind me to teach you about "petals around the rose" - another fascinating problem...

that is really confusing!!!
i think that there is an equal possiblity of getting the car because you do not know which door the cra is behind. therefore the answer depends on luck and probability.
pim:P
no i dont think so... coz if you choose door 1 or 2 the host will still show you door 3 so basically youre just guessing the answer between 1 & 2
i don't understand
i'm very impressed that you two have had a go at solving it and are discussing the mathematical probabilities, etc. well done!

I think it is equal as well...I think I saw that in the dog in the night time book cya

i think you've got a slightly better chance to switch to door two
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
no its 50 50 I'm sure 50% I'm 99% sure think of it like this three doors 2 goats and 1 car you know 3 is a goat so now there is 1 goat and 1 car your just as likely to get a car as you are a goat so whats the point in changing?
Try thinking about it with more then three doors like 20 doors. Theres only a car behind one. You pick on and they guy opens 18 doors and leaves one. Do you still think its 50/50 then?
no because there is then 1 car and 17 goats. see. its only 50 50 because you only have 2 choices.
Yes but in the first place you have a 19 out of 20 chance to pick a goat and a one out of 20 chance to get a car. So if you are more likely to get a goat and then the guy opens all the other ones with goats behind except for one door it is much more likely that it will be the car because you only have a 1 out of 20 chance to pick the car door, so you should change. It's the same situation with 3 doors except you don't get that much of a bigger chance by changing but you still have a better chance.
I still dissagree.
lol no one trusts anthony
does the game "petals around the rose" depend on the spelling of the game?
