field trips

I have one field trip to an 'island' in mind. It could also be fun to walk up to the uni, see their fernery, talk to experts, have a picnic, monitor bird types, check out what lives in their lakes, etc.
If we design good rodent monitoring stations, we could go to local spots worth regenerating and see if the rodents [or any other nasties] are there too.
I have heard that we have potential contacts for a behind the scenes look at the Auckland Zoo. How could we tie that into our study on the environment, endangered animals, introduced pests, etc.?
All sensible ideas welcome ...

Zuzu - i totally agree - however, a less difficult and expensive to access island may have to suffice.
think about what it is you actually imagie nenjoyign and write it down so we can see if we can replicate it somewhere different.
imagine sleeping over at the auckland zoo....

ruary - thanks for your advice - we will look into it - why was it interesting?
and where are you from?

it would be soooooooooooooooo cool if we went to tuhua and if we went to auckland zoo the K.O.D could carry on with their project about cats or we could go to that maugatautari reserve that you are talking about or we stay overnight at the bush.

yeah - has anyone heard which place is better to sleepover at? ask your friends. i reckon the zoo would be cooler, but kelly tarltons might be really amazing. do you sleep in the tunnel seeing the fish above you?

i would like to camp in a forest somewhere, and roast stuff over fires like marshmallows! and we could learn some hunting techniques.... if we r aloud.

PS: Mr Woody I finished my personal project thing can u come 2 mi blog

we can't hunt anything, except for pests, but we have to be humane. we could investigate how maori used to hunt things - i have seen some ingenious inventions they came up with for trapping birds. very impressive contraptions.

I lOVE the idea about staying in Kelly tarltons or the zoo!

If we stayed the night at the zoo, maybe we could feed the animals and help out the keepers..just think, we could all be assigned a job, and a keeper..and oh my god! there would be so0o0o much opportunities(is that how you spell it) and it would be so much fun! please could you ask them about it?

out of town trips now looking limited. behaviour and work quality will be directly related to whether or not we go anywhere.
but fear not - i am sure we will do well and get to go on at least two trips before the year ends. hooray!!!
