Other Enviroschools in action

St Joseph's school also has an interest in sustainable gardens and chickens.

Here is their website:

Checkout the links in the sidebar menu - they have many similar interests and have been making things happen.

Can you find websites or blogs from Hamilton schools that also have similar projects ?

I hear Hukanui is a cool school and I saw another school on TV who have sustainable gardens and their own flash kitchen for the after school kids to make food in.

Is it just? Sounds cool! I would love to render a chick each. But, of course, we already come up with big problems. How about... if you can't have a chicken for the day, give it to someone to look after for that night, (or just not have one at all) and pay them a little bit of money as generosity for what they have done for you. Just an idea

Hey guys, I think that it is awesome that some people out their are interested in living sustainable lives. We should contact them and them how the done it and every thing else we want to know. DO you that posts about forests. Speaking about them the Bali Bombers are going to get executed in a forest in less then a few days (2-4) On my blog I am making a post about the US election.

I would love to do something like this but im not sure that we could do everything that they did in less than 1 term.
But we could at least make a start!!!
I really want to raise chicks. It would be so fun. They are sooooo cute.

Our problem (not including resource problems) is that we are not focusing on this idea. We have thought about, some of us have tried to carry on but it is just not working. If we really did want to do this idea we would have to have a plan and heaps of time set aside to make this goal come true.

"A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan"
It's something like that. I can't remember who it was that said that.

Yeah! GO HUKANUI!!! =)
We (Hukanui) won the Green Gold award for 2006 (Or it might have been 2005, I can't remember!!) We raised native trees in our nursery, and then when they were old enough, planted them in our gully!

And, yes, I would love to raise chicks, but personally I don't think it would happen this year since we have to focus on our globalisation projects.

You are completely right Roo.
If we are going to REALLY do something we need to plan and focus holeheartedly on doing it.
Oooo... Tomorrow is the big day... If McCain becomes President I am going to be so annoyed.

P.S. Roo, that saying was said by Harvey MacKay.

Hi everybody!

Just thought I'd drop you a line! I'm hard at work at Silverdale Normal School now, 6 and a half weeks to go! Have I told you guys n girls I've got two very small organic garden plots going? Growing silverbeet, tomatoes, lettuce, and broccoli. Got plans to expand and add another two, but still have a lot to learn, plus we don't have much time to look after them with. Also have a small worm farm! My parents have been a great help. Chickens are definitely on the cards too, even though some of the girls at home would be a little scared of them!! Keep up the good work room 5, catch ya later.

PS, hey mech boy I believe the politically correct term would be the first 'African American' president!

ha ha.

Mech Boy I thought you were always one to get things right with words. Hopefully Barack Obama doesn't get assasinated. Hopefully Barack Obama does a good job at cleaning up this recession mess.

how did this sustainable garden turn into politics imagine if that did actually happen for real if an egg plant was barack Obama and carrot was john mcain what a tragedy that would be

Awesomo4000, maybe you should think more about punctuation and capital letters in your comments.

Excuse me, I could argue all day over whether or not what I said about Obama was the politically correct term. He IS black (not meaning to be racist), he IS also an African American. He just happens to be the first black and the first African American president.

National won and made a government on it's own.
