Who is this character? He is a famous chinese philosopher.
apparently Aristotle was the teacher of the great Alexander and he wrote about physics, metaphysics, poetry, theatre, music, logic, zoology, politics, government, ethics, biology and rhetoric ( no clue what it is... researching...)
good work candy cane - following up on your own questions is excellent self directed learning - you are also referencing well. top work! do you need to ask any more questions regarding what certain things mean? can you understand everything written in the descriptions? feel free to ask. :-)
Ok thanks Mr woody. Anyway that Philosophical Questions thing was really really interesting I think that everyone should try it. It was confusing but I understood at least half of it
Confucious was a man whose philosphies deeply influenced Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. He emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity.
Great Nei-Nei Neina-Marie it is Confucious. He was a great philosopher. Just like Aristoltle and Sun Tzu. "Sun Tzu, both as an author of the Art of War and a legendary figure, had an immense impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the Art of War gained popularity and saw practical use in Western society. He remains highly influential in both Asian and Western culture and politics."
As stated on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Tzu
Yeah COnfucius and Sun Tzu were major philosophors in Asia in their early era's. Another major Asian Philosopher is Laozi also known as Lao-Tzu. He was the main figure of Taoism. His successor Zhuangzi had an impact on Chinese Literature, culture and spirituality. Here is a quote from Laozi that I think is a important saying thet leaders have to keep in mind.
A leader is best when people barely know he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him, worst when they despise him. But of a good leader, who talks little, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say, 'We did this ourselves.'
About Socrates he is widely known as one of the founders of western philosophy he was also known because of his vast contribution to the field of ethics, another of his most famous concepts is Socratic Irony and Socratic Method
