Why can't we put out fires?

How come, if we can blow up whole cities, fly around the planet, go to Mars, unravel our genetic code, make machines smaller than pin heads, construct space stations and chat to classrooms in NZ from them, we can't put out bush fires???
Where do these terrible fires usually rage out of control each year?

I suppose fire is the greatest invention on earth - It's so great we can't put it out. Fire kind of has a mind of it's own!! All the things you mentioned we can control by doing certain things, though, I suppose we should be able to control fire by water. Wait, does any of this make sense???!!!

I think we couldn't put out bush fires out effectively because the governmentis just too lazy to put in the resources. Also I think this fact is true America has 1 billion or 1 trillion dollars for it's defence alone or was it weapons?

Mojo has a good point. I mean, were trying to take over the world, and if they hadn't put so much money into it, many bush fires probably could be saved.

A bush fire is actaully a very , hot, blazing fire and it's really stretched out so of course it's going to be hard for anybody to put out know matter what size you are.
But i have not a clue why we can't put out a fire but we still can't do a lot of things, so mabye one day we'll be able to put out a blaze, but for now we must live with the equipment we have i guess.

It is rather strange how we can't put out something we can start.
If only there was a substance that we could throw on the fire that detours the fire from the trees and bushes then burns out the fire.
