Right, said Fred
you are grappling with alliteration, simile, metaphor, onomatopoiea [sp?] and the like. show me that you understand some of it. post some funny, clever or poignant examples. 8>) i dare you
of course, at the same time you are trying to work out how to do inquiry learning, evaluate hamilton and produce something brilliant for an audience you may never meet. some of you are fundraising to save cats. you also have science fair looming and you need to understand the principles of fair testing. there is maths - most important to understand what a factor tree is, don't you think? and if you can't estimate the volume or capacity of a gnat's abdomen perhaps you may never get a job. then there are spelling/word study, P.E., and careers studies. next term you will have to learn from strangers about your bodies and what not to put into them. you are being studied by others as to whether or not you can be taught to take a decent photo. people want to know if you can make use of high tech gadgetry to enhance your learning. some are arguing about whether or not you learn better by getting back to the basics, or by abandoning them in favour of thinking, questioning and research skills. design and oral language may be becoming more important than written language. but, having said that, we are trying to teach you new types of reading skills to help you decypher what is meaningful from what is not, in the endless world of information that lies all about you... you seem to like talking to each other, drawing pictures, playing games....
what do you think?
not that you'd know what's good for you - you're only children. ;>)
wow - well done mr brainy - can anyone suggest improvements to his sentence. i reckon it could be improved, but it is very good - and you are my hero for being first to post - well done! 8>)
This is an example of a simile: Amal is like an ox
This is the metaphor version: Amal is an ox
P.S I'm ever so sorry if this is offending Amal, you're just so nice, I thought that you'd like to be a simile. Because if you take away the first i n simile, you make SMILE!!!
p.s. i had to type "choij" to post this. seesm like a nice word. maybe we should collect the 'interesting' words we have to type to post here and make a poster out of them. or maybe not. have a great night kidlets - you posters are doing so well. see if you can encourage some of the others. we need to start podcasting before the next term is out.
